The Madden Center Phases of Chiropractic Care
In order for the body to heal and repair itself correctly, injuries need to be treated in a particular sequence.
The average treatment times for all of these phases may vary due a patient’s level of health and the severity of their medical condition.
Phase 1: Relief Care
When a patient first comes to the office in some degree of pain or discomfort, a chiropractor’s main objective is to reduce and eliminate the patient’s pain as quickly and efficiently as possible. If a patient does not respond well to chiropractic care during this phase, the chiropractor may decide to refer them to another healthcare professional.
Phase 2: Corrective/Restorative Care
The corrective phase begins once the patient’s level of pain has reduced and their muscles and tissues have begun to heal. Since the condition has not yet fully stabilized, this phase of treatment is extremely necessary for facilitating further progress and preventing re-injury.
Phase 3: Wellness Care
It is highly recommended that patients receive periodic adjustments after their injuries have healed. A disciplined and caring long term commitment to chiropractic care can help patients maintain their good health and avoid future problems.
